Data Privacy Notice

This data privacy notice is issued under Article 13(1) and Article 13(2) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, No. 679/2016 ("GDPR"). It contains information relevant to you if you have provided ITB with your personal data in connection with your contract with ITB, a request made to ITB, an application for work with ITB, or if you have registered for training provided by ITB, of if you have made an enquiry for information or requested ITB's opinion, or in connection with any other purpose described in your communication with us.

The Controller

The controller of your personal data will be Instytut Techniki Budowlanej (ITB, the Building Research Institute) with its registered office in Warsaw (Filtrowa 1).

 Data Protection Officer (DPO)

Purpose and basis of personal data processing

Your personal data will be processed to ensure that your contract with ITB or a request made to ITB is performed lawfully, your application for work or training with ITB is processed lawfully or your enquiry for information or a request for ITB's opinion is/are dealt with lawfully, or for any other purpose described in your communication with us. The legal basis of the processing is Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR (recruitment or training), Article 6(1)(b)/(f) of the GDPR (a contract or a request), or Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR (a request for information or an opinion, or for any other purpose).

Recipients of your personal data

Your personal data may be provided to any person involved in your contract, process or procedure, and/or any agency or authority with statutory powers to deal with your matter which is provided with your personal data by the controller (ITB).

Data retention periods

We will retain your personal data until we deal with and close the matter for which it was collected. We will also retain your data where we are required to do by the provisions of the Act of 14 July 1983 on national archival resources and archives (Dz.U. [Journal of Laws] of 2019, items 553 and 730, as amended) for a period defined under these provisions in ITB's 'standard list of files' [Polish: Jednolity Wykaz Akt]. This period will not be longer than it is necessary to protect ITB's legitimate interests. In the case of a contract with us, we will retain your personal data throughout the lifecycle of the construction product or building (structure) that the contract relates to.

Your rights

According to the GDPR, you have

  • the right to access your personal data and to request a copy of your data,
  • the right to rectify your data or to make it complete if it is incorrect and/or not up-to-date, and the right to have your data deleted if it is processed other than for a legitimate interest,
  • the right to restriction of the processing of your data and the right to object to the processing of your data,
  • the right to lodge a complaint to the President of the Office of Personal Data Protection (Stawki 2, 02-193 Warszawa).
